Moving but Not Leaving

I’m Moving My Primary Writing Home to TheWriteCalling.Substack.com (But I’m Not Leaving WordPress)

If you’ve been reading my work here, thank you. This blog has been a steady place for my ideas, stories, and reflections—and it’s not going away.

That said, I’m making a shift in where I post first.

Going forward, Substack will be my primary publishing platform, and I’ll continue to cross-post here on WordPress so you can still read everything in the same familiar place.

Why Substack?

Substack is built specifically for writers. WordPress is powerful, but it’s a general-purpose platform—Substack is designed around the things authors need most as they grow:

  • Email-first publishing (new posts can go directly to subscribers without battling algorithms)
  • A smoother reading experience for long-form writing and serialized fiction
  • Better discovery tools for reaching readers who are actively looking for writers and stories
  • Stronger publishing workflow for drafts, scheduling, sections, and ongoing series
  • A clearer path to “author mode” as I move closer to releasing published work

In short: it’s a more mature writer-focused platform, and it supports the direction I’m heading—not just posting, but building a real readership as I pursue publication.

What This Means for You

Nothing is being taken away. You’ll still be able to read my posts for free.

Here’s how it will work:

  • Most posts will appear on Substack first
  • I’ll cross-post the same content here on WordPress
  • If you prefer to stay right here, you won’t miss out

If you’d like, you can also subscribe on Substack so posts land in your inbox automatically (no searching, no feeds, no “Did I miss something?”).

Will My Writing Still Be Free?

Yes. My content will remain free, with one clear exception:

As I move closer to releasing published work, some material that’s directly connected to that—such as premium extras, early access, behind-the-scenes drafting notes, special editions, or publication-related exclusives—may be reserved for paid supporters.

But the heart of what I do here—the essays, reflections, updates, and plenty of fiction—will stay available to everyone.

Thank You for Being Here

This is a step forward for me as a writer, and I’m genuinely grateful you’ve been part of the journey so far. WordPress remains a home base and archive, and Substack becomes the engine that helps me write and publish more consistently—and reach more readers.

If you’d like to follow along on Substack, you can find me there under TheWriteCalling.substack.com.

As always: thank you for reading. More to come.
