Sanctuary Legacy: Transformations

Novel Teaser

There’s something thrilling about watching a character wrestle with his own reflection—and not just the literal kind in the mirror. In the current development of The Sanctuary Legacy, one character in particular has taken an unexpected turn that’s both compelling and, frankly, a little unsettling.

Edward Sabini isn’t your typical protagonist. He doesn’t burst into the story with a clear sense of purpose or heroic resolve. He’s not trying to save the world. In fact, when we first meet him, he’s doing everything he can to avoid responsibility altogether. A successful lawyer with a complicated past, Edward prides himself on keeping things compartmentalized: grief, guilt, obligation—they all go in tidy boxes. Preferably locked.

But now? The boxes are starting to open.

As the novel progresses, we’re seeing cracks form in Edward’s meticulously curated armor. Not because he wants to change, but because the world around him is shifting—subtly, then suddenly. What started as a routine legal obligation has evolved into something murkier, more personal. And for a man used to controlling the narrative, that’s dangerous territory.

What makes Edward so fascinating to write—and hopefully to read—isn’t just what he’s hiding from others. It’s what he’s hiding from himself. The things he pretends not to care about. The people he insists he doesn’t need. The moral compromises he tells himself are “just temporary.” But every choice has a cost. And Edward is running out of ways to avoid the bill.

Is he a man running from his past, or toward something darker? Is he protecting the people he cares about—or controlling them? Is redemption even possible when you’re not sure what side you’re on anymore?

As I continue building the layers of the story, Edward stands at the center of it all—haunted, sharp, and more tangled than even he realizes.

He’s not a hero. But he’s definitely not a villain. And that gray space? That’s where this story breathes.

Stay tuned for more updates—because Edward Sabini’s story is only just beginning to unravel.
